The Maybach gang are back, copping a serious booking for their next party in the form of hotly (and deservedly) tipped Canadian producer, Ryan Hemsworth who’ll be performing his first London show for them. The Frank Ocean remixer and Main Attrakionz producer has dropped a slew of fresh productions in the past 12 months, with his sun-kissed and decidely idiosyncratic take on hip hop and electronica providing a welcome antidote to the trap-by-numbers/euro dance bullshit that continues to dominate the mainstream. On top of this he’s also an excellent DJ as demonstrated by his excellent contribution to Fact’s weekly mix series which was recently voted their #1 mix of 2012.
Maybach have upped the ante on this one, moving from their usual home at The Alibi for a one off at Birthdays and support comes from Altered Natives, Oil Gang, Tom Lea and Slackk which is no mean fucking line up either. Free Entry as well… This should be a no-brainer.
As part of cheeky bit of promotion for his set at Wifey tonight, Altered Natives has just announced a free download of his Danny Does Acid EP which nicely tops off a week of good downloads for us. Featuring 4 Funky edits of acid house classics, this one should nicely set you up for the weekend.

Released this week, this nine track free… yes free(!) EP from Local Action Records features a selection of reworkings/remixings/tributes to RnB legend Cassie. I mentioned earlier in the week that the Shackleton tune might be the best free download you’d find this week and I was wrong… This is.
With the likes of Brackles and Altered Natives contributing, the quality here is high. It’s worth downloading purely for the Jacques Greene Marriage Proposal mix of ‘Must Be Love’ alone. Skydiver is a really cool project and stands as a testament to the general quality of the Local Action Label (check out the previous 003 release by T.Williams if any further proof is needed!)

Corsica Studios flagship night turns 2 this week, and is celebrating by throwing an enormous party, with a mind bendingly good lineup.
Room 1 sees DJ Zinc playing some ‘crack house’, alongside garage legends MJ Cole and Zed Bias playing a B2B ‘History of Garage set (YES!!!)
