James Blake… It’s been at least a month since I’ve written about him (maybe even two!) but enough is enough, R&S have just announced that they are releasing a new EP of his stuff including unreleased favourite ‘Love What Happened Here’ which Benji B featured on his Radio 1 show the other week. 

‘LWHH’ is more mellow than his previous R&S output yet it adopts a similar path sonically to earlier stuff like CYMK and The Bells Sketch; one that is decidedly more interesting to these ears than the ‘Chamber Pop’ that characterised his debut album. His use of melody and harmony is as fantastic and arresting as ever and when married with his colourful synth work, it reminds you what makes him such an exciting producer. Based on this, I’m looking forward to the rest of the EP.
